Every applicant must demonstrate, by an audition, portfolio, and/or interview, sufficient ability and potential to successfully pursue one of the degree programs of the School.
We strongly recommend auditioning or interviewing in Ann Arbor.
Auditions and interviews are scheduled after a successful review of an applicant's complete application materials. To be considered, submit an application and an Artistic Profile no later than the application deadline. You will be able to indicate your desired audition dates on your Artistic Profile, and we do our very best to accomodate those preferences. All audition invitations will be sent via email on a rolling basis.
Do not make travel arrangements until you have received an invitation indicating your audition/interview date.
To reschedule an audition or interview, please contact SMTD Admissions. Though we will try to accomodate your change request, not all auditions can be rescheduled due to limited capacity and time. There is no fee or penalty for rescheduling an audition or interview.
In the case that you need to cancel your audition, please contact SMTD Admissions.
